
Vernice Williams Confirmed as VP and Chief Information Officer

University of The Bahamas (UB) announces the confirmation of Mrs. Vernice Williams as Vice President and Chief Information Officer (CIO) effective 1st March 2021.
Mrs. Williams had been serving as Acting VP and CIO since September 2020. She will continue to provide the vision, planning, strategic direction, technical leadership and management of the institution’s information technology operations. She will also review and establish operating policies and procedures; develop plans for business continuity, disaster recovery, contract services for information technology operations; and implement enhancements where necessary.
The work of the CIO is critical to maintaining a robust data centre and expanding information technology and media infrastructure.
Mrs. Williams is a veteran employee of UB and has served as Director of Information Technology, Assistant Director, Operations Supervisor, Senior Computer/Lab Supervisor, and Computer Operator.
She earned a Master of Science degree in Management with Human Resources from University of the West Indies, and both a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Services and Associate of Arts degree in Computer Data Processing from the College of The Bahamas.
